Metadata

The Metadata setting controls how post information such as authors, publish date, and reading time is displayed. This information appears at the top of each post and helps provide context to your readers.

Step-by-step:

Go to "Design & branding" in Ghost Admin and click "Customize".

In the theme settings tab, find the "Metadata" option under the Post section.

Choose your preferred option.

Click "Save" to apply your changes.

Available options

  • Author – Displays only the author’s name.

  • Author / Date – Displays the author’s name and publish date.

  • Author / Date / Min read (default) – Displays the author’s name, publish date, and estimated reading time.

  • Date – Displays only the publish date.

  • Date / Min read – Displays the publish date and estimated reading time, without the author.

  • Min read – Displays only the estimated reading time.

  • Hide – Hides all metadata from the post header.

This theme also supports multiple authors. A maximum of two authors will be displayed for each post, which covers most common use cases.
