# Lightbox

The Lightbox feature lets visitors click on images inside your content to view them in an enlarged overlay. It enhances the visual experience and works on both posts and pages.\
This feature is enabled by default.

### Step-by-step:

Go to **"Design & branding"** in Ghost Admin and click **"Customize"**.

In the theme settings tab, find the **"Enable lightbox"** toggle under the **Post** section.

Toggle the option **ON** or **OFF** to control the lightbox effect for images.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **"Save"** to apply your changes.

Disabling this option removes the extra HTML and JavaScript required for the lightbox, improving performance for sites that don’t need this feature.
