Navigation

The Neue theme supports two types of navigation: Primary and Secondary.

Primary Navigation

The primary navigation appears in the site navbar. It displays a list of links and supports a single dropdown to organize additional items.

1

Access Ghost Admin

  • Log in to your Ghost Admin at yoursite.com/ghost

2
  • Go to Settings > Site > Navigation yoursite.com/ghost/#/settings/navigation

  • Click the "Customize" button to open the editor.

3

Add or Edit Menu Items

  • Add links using a label and URL.

  • Reorder or remove items as needed.

4

Create a Dropdown Menu

  • Insert a new item with the URL set to ###

  • In the label field:

    • Use @ to display a dots icon (•••)

    • Or type a word like More to show it as text.

  • All items added after this one will appear inside the dropdown.

5

Save Changes

  • Click "Save" to apply your updated primary navigation.

Secondary Navigation

The secondary navigation is displayed in the site footer and supports multiple columns and more than 30 social links.

1

Access Ghost Admin

  • Log in to your Ghost Admin at yoursite.com/ghost

2
  • Go to Settings > Site > Navigation yoursite.com/ghost/#/settings/navigation

  • Click the "Customize" button to open the editor.

3
  • Use the Secondary section.

  • Add links using a label and URL.

4

Create Columns

  • Insert a new item with the URL set to ###

  • In the label field:

    • Use @ to display the columns without title.

    • Or type a word like Company to show it as title.

  • You can add any number of items after a title. The column automatically closes when the next title is added.

  • The recommended number of columns is up to 3 for the best design consistency and readability.

5

Save Changes

  • Click "Save" to update the secondary navigation.

Footer columns support social links. These links appear with an arrow icon and open in a new tab when clicked. For a full list of supported social links and setup instructions, see the Social links article.
