Metadata

The Metadata setting controls how some post information is displayed, such as the authors, publish date, and estimated reading time.

This metadata appears at the top of each post and helps provide context to your readers.

1

Access Ghost Admin

  • Log in to your Ghost Admin at yoursite.com/ghost

2
  • Go to Settings > Site > Design & branding yoursite.com/ghost/#/settings/design

  • Click the "Customize" button to open the theme editor.

3

Open Theme Settings

  • Locate the Metadata option under the Post section.

Available Options

  • Author - Displays only the author's name.

  • Author / Date - Displays the author's name and the publish date only.

  • Author / Date / Min read (default) - Displays the author's name, the publish date, and the estimated reading time.

  • Date - Displays only the publish date.

  • Date / Min read - Displays the publish date and the estimated reading time, without the author.

  • Hide - Hides all metadata elements from the post header.

The Glide theme also supports displaying multiple authors on a post, with a maximum of (two authors) shown. This is enough to cover most common use cases.
