The Sense theme supports two types of navigation: Primary and Secondary.

Primary Navigation

The primary navigation appears in the site header. It displays a list of links and supports a single dropdown to organize additional items.

1

Access Ghost Admin

  • Log in to your Ghost Admin at yoursite.com/ghost

2

Navigate to Navigation Settings

  • Go to Settings > Site > Navigation yoursite.com/ghost/#/settings/navigation

  • Click the "Customize" button to open the editor.

3

Add or Edit Menu Items

  • Add links using a label and URL.

  • Reorder or remove items as needed.

4

Create a Dropdown Menu

  • Insert a new item with the URL set to ###

  • In the label field:

    • Use @ to display a dots icon (•••)

    • Or type a word like More to show it as text.

  • All items added after this one will appear inside the dropdown.

5

Save Changes

  • Click "Save" to apply your updated primary navigation.

Secondary Navigation

The secondary navigation is displayed in the site footer as a simple list of links.

3

Add or Edit Footer Items

  • Use the Secondary section.

  • Add, remove, or reorder items as needed.

4

Save Changes

  • Click "Save" to update the secondary navigation.

The secondary navigation is also used to define additional social media links. Supported social platforms will not appear in the list of links but will instead be displayed as icons in the social section of the footer.

For a full list of supported icons and setup instructions, see the article.

Note: The secondary navigation does not support columns or custom headings. All links are shown as a single list.
